A head-to-head (H2H) record is the lifetime tally of completed matches between two players: who has won more meetings, and on which surfaces. The biggest rivalries in tennis are built one match at a time over years, and the running score is one of the most reliable signals when handicapping a future meeting.
Below are the most-played ATP and WTA rivalries in our database, ranked by total career meetings. Each links to a full breakdown: the complete H2H record, surface splits, recent form, common opponents, and our model's read on the matchup.
How we count head-to-head records
Meetings count every completed ATP or WTA match in our database between a pair, regardless of round or event. Walkovers and retirements are included when a winner was recorded. A rivalry needs a real history to appear here, so the list favors the matchups players have contested again and again.
